Firm History

Studio 13 Design Group has a very dynamic history that encompasses all aspects of the Landscape Industry. The history of Studio 13 Design Group can be traced back to the basics of landscape construction. Leonard W. Reeves, founder of Studio 13 Design Group, started his career in the landscape industry as a maintenance foreman. Leonard performed landscape maintenance for several years while he worked on his Landscape Architecture Degree at Texas Tech University.

Upon graduation, Leonard accepted a position at a Dallas area design / build firm where he created and managed a landscape and irrigation construction department. In 1996, Leonard moved from the landscape construction industry to the landscape consultation industry. Leonard took a position at a well respected civil engineering firm in Dallas as a landscape designer. As the economy grew, so did the engineering firm. In 2003-2004, Leonard was made a partner.

As a partner, Leonard’s responsibilities ranged from project design to project management as well as client management. Leonard believed the objective of a design firm should be dedicated to serve its clients beyond their highest expectations. In May 2006, Leonard began Studio 13 Design Group with the idea he would create a firm that could produce aesthetic projects that can efficiently and economically be constructed.

At Studio 13, we believe that the employees of a firm should be included in all aspects of a project from concept to details as well as client contact. This type of environment creates a well rounded team.
